Acupuncture

Acupuncture (often misspelled "accupuncture") is one of the modalities of Chinese medicine and is based on the ancient theories of the flow of energy (qi) through distinct pathways that course the body, similar to the way nerves and blood vessels do. According to this theory, acupuncture adjusts this flow of energy in the body, leading it to areas that are weak or deficient and draining it from areas that are blocked and/or over-abundant. By regulating the flow of energy in this way, acupuncture restores and maintains the harmonious balance of the body. Thin, sterile, disposable needles are inserted into specific points along the body's energy pathways. Acupuncture can effectively treat many conditions including back pain, depression, menopause, sciatica, knee pain, stress, arthritis, allergies, fibromyalgia, headaches, IBS, insomnia, PMS, anxiety, neck pain, and so much more.

Gua Sha (Scraping Technique)

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing. In most cases, the patient feels an immediate shift in their condition particularly in their pain, sense of constraint, and increased range of motion. Modern research has confirmed Gua sha reduces pain and inflammation while stimulating an immune protective response that can persist for days following treatment. Gua sha is a valuable treatment for musculoskeletal problems as well as internal organ conditions including respiratory and hepatic inflammation.
